Search My Posts and Started Threads Not Working...

I can't get into my profile page, or what ever it is called. When I try to access my latest posts or started threads search, I get an error page. Is this happening to others, or just me.

Does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks

We have alerted the authorities.

Thanks for the help and understanding.

I'm getting an error page since yesterday when I search for anything.

In the mean time (and perhaps longer, since vButtetin's search feature has always been fragile), use a little google-fu instead. E.g. in the Google search field "[whatever it is you're searching for] site:bikeforums.net" to restrict search results to those found on bikeforums.

Bikes and Jeeps 07-05-15 05:14 PM

For the last week or so the scroll down bar disappears.
I hit refresh and it comes back.

randyjawa 07-05-15 06:14 PM

Still isn't working for me, nor is the search option.

greg3rd48 07-05-15 06:54 PM

It still is not working.

Patience, grasshoppers.

I notice that the site keeps logging me out, maybe it's connected somehow.

Lenton58 07-06-15 10:28 AM

Got the same, so I Googled the topic and added "Lenton58" to it — voila! — up came my old thread that I wanted t update.

Well, my patience has, indeed, been tested.

Apparently, I started this thread on July 5, 2015, which is, to me a surprise, since I am pretty sure I posted it much more recently than that.

All of my posts have disappeared since July 5, 2015 except the one I posted earlier today. My guess it will be gone by tomorrow.

I hate to complain, and for all I know, this could be a fault at my end, but it is very frustrating and takes much of the fun out of using the forum. I do hope that someone can help me fix this problem.

Hmmm...that dovetails with something I saw yesterday. Trying to check another member's posting history (for reasons I'll not divulge), I noted the most recent ones were from July 7th. I know the person in question has posted more recently than that.

That can't be a coincidence...

I ran into a similar problem over the weekend when trying to update a few threads I had either started or contributed to earlier this Fall (October & September). When I did the search on BF only really old threads and posts were found. I eventually tracked down what I was looking for using Google. So try that.

BTW, how's Jamaica, man!?!

I can't be bothered to that degree. It is my loss, for sure, but the Bike Forums as well and they are the only ones who can fix the problem, unless, of course, it exists at my end. As for Jamaica...

I could not go when I wanted to. I underwent emergency surgery, having a couple of feet of my small intestine removed (ouch! - pooey stinko). So, I am mending well and and leave for Jamaica on December 6th. Will have my first ride on Dec 8th(gotta rent a cab, get supplies in Black River, then put the Bianchi together...

Randy, sorry to hear about your surgery. Glad to hear that you are on the mend.

I have again alerted the Admin staff that Search is still not working correctly.

pastorbobnlnh 11-20-15 07:30 AM

Randy, mend well and travel safely. The powered wheels look really snazzy. Enjoy but be safe!

It's definitely been working between July and now.

I am working with tech to resolve the current issue that just popped up today.

FYI, for future issues, do NOT post them in here! There's a forum for technical issues with the site:

Forum Suggestions & User Assistance

If you post stuff like this here? Guess who will never see it?

The guy whose job it is to get it fixed (me).

As they say here in Japan, "O-daiji-ni kudasai". Without a translation: it means to encourage your best of health. Please be patient. My sister has had similar surgery. It could take some time and patience. Please be careful, despite your predilection towards great vigour.

I use a moto for daily transportation to work — a 1991 Yamaha SRX-4 (3VN1) 400 cc single: 4 valves OHC, primary and secondary carbs, mono shock, Al swing arm, dry sump, oil cooler blah blah — soda-kinda a production cafe racer. (You can look it up and mine may even show up on the net.)

I am sure you will love riding, and your gas mileage will be outstanding. And because it's new, it will not cost you a dime. Mine was bought with 25K Km and some years on it. I can't say that it has been cheap to run. MC parts cost a fortune these days — not like when you and I started to ride.

I'll be looking forward to seeing that Bianchi. In the meantime, you and Mrs Jawa enjoy Jamaica. Relax and soak up some health.

BTW: as I was rooting around in my bike garage today, I was thinking about you!

randyjawa 01-22-16 03:28 PM

Well, here I am in Jamaica, month two, and, even though I have posted some on my winter riding info, I can't find it. Bummer!
