Campagnolo Super Record Market Report spring 2016

Here's what I've found for this spring. Others a free to give input.

Prices for complete groups are down $100-200 dollars. Component prices are up and down depending on the components but parted out groups are up.

Prices listed are averages for parts in 8/10 condition and the range I saw for parts in 3/10 up to 9/10 condition.

Crankset: $150 $125-175
Bottom bracket: $75 $75-100 I have 3 of these at $99 I cant sell
Front derailleur: $60 $50-75
Rear Derailleur: $150 $100-200 I sold 1 at $200 and several at $150
Shift levers: $25 $25-50
Hubs: $75 $75-125 I have 2 of these I cant sell at $99
Headset: $125 $100-150
Seat post: $125 $100-150
Pedals: $75 $75-100 I priced 2 pairs too low at $75
Brake levers: $125 $125-175
Calipers: $150 $150-225

$1135 avg. for a parted group.

$1000 low
$1525 high

These prices are assuming everything is fully functional. Good brake lever hoods, good jockey wheels, good brake pads, all bearing races in good condition with no pitting. Everything cleaned, lubed and greased as needed.

What one can take from this is that any bike with a full Super Record group is worth a minimum of $600. Why only $600? Because you need room for parts that aren't serviceable. I bought full Super record bike that ended up having a bad headset and seat post, that's upwards of $300 down the drain. A bike may needs hoods ($40) brake pads ($40) brake adjuster rubbers $10 and other odds and ends.

Thanks for this - good info to be aware of.

Not that I don't already, but I'll be sure to treat my SR-equipped '84 Mercian Pro with kid gloves from here on in.

Part-out on that group would, apparently, cover two months' rent (frame remaining). Too nice a bike to contemplate that seriously.

Useful, but my guess the Pedals were Superleggero, not ti axle Super Record. The ti axle pairs do fetch more.
These ge mistitled all the time! Sometimes, true Super Record pedals get downgraded in the description too.
Same with the Bottom Bracket, probably not the ti spindle / aluminum cup unit.
Hubs, while often called Super Record... are Record, but the marketeers now call them that so often it is becoming accepted.
My guess the $200. front derailleur had the four hole cage, those do command a premium.

Pedals are Record SL...RD was $200 not the front.

Semantics. Open the 1985 Campagnolo catalog to the Super Record group and those are parts I'm talking about.
