For the Love of Leather Saddles --A Revival Challenge
I picked up 5 leather saddles today for $30. They are of different brands and are in various conditions. I have read quite a few threads on restoring leather saddles, so I figured that I would give it a go. Here is a chronicle of this process.
Here they are in their original glory.
Saddle #1 Peugeot Sport

Saddle #2 Club No.29

Saddle #3 Adga 28A

Saddle #4 Unknown

Saddle #5 Sport?

...you can improve the usefulness of that Club considerably by using a flat wound shoe lace to stitch through the holes on the lower edge and bring the skirts back closer together. After the leather waxing is done, of course.

Well... good luck! At least you didn't overpay... by... to... much.
The Peugeot one looks interesting, possibly the oldest of these. Adga, Club, and probably #4 are bottom barrel French saddles, terribly cheap, but if you can get some use out of them then no complaints.
#5 , Sport? Does the stamp include a stylised greeting of a guy on a racing bike? If so, that's a Czechoslovak product, OEM on Favorit bikes in the 60's-70's. If that's what you have, I'd consider supplying the missing nose hardware from one of the junk French ones.
Good luck, again....

I hope those are the result of being left out in the rain and not from butt sweat. Either way, be sure to wash your hands.
