Could you help me identifying this frame?

I was told this was a cinelli frame although i'm not a believer looking at this fork crown. The fork seems to be original but i've got no much idea of what it could be just by looking at its dropouts and lugs. I would seriously be glad if anyone could help! Thanks, mates.

It's NOT a Cinelli. As to what it IS, we need some more info: what size is the seat post? What is the BottomBracket threading? have you removed the fork and seen any stampings on the steerer? Are there stamps (brand) on the dropouts?

ok. the seat post is 26.8, english threaded and there is a "suntour pro" stamp on the dropouts.

those clues point toward "Japan": the 26.8 seatpost could indicate Tange tubing (possibly Ishiwata), that nut on the downtube for shifter means either SunTour (was there a Shimano "aero" shifter that used this?) and seen on a few Miyatas (and sister Univegas) and Nishikis. The serial number would be a great clue for somebody with a memory for these (like T-Mar had) but I'm too forgetful for this. That semi wrap-over stay treatment will probably clinch it once somebody recognizes the serial number convention. I've seen some Fujis and Lotus-es that used that style, but not sure if either brand fits this case.

BTW the stamping on the BB is a bit faint in places, plus the photo is soft, so can you confirm the letters/numbers?

looked for serial numbers of those brands you mentioned and miyatas may fit that single letter ("I" would possibly indicate 1980) and six digits pattern.

Don't know what it is, but it looks like a very nice frame. I suspect it is from the early eighties, as it has the 'aero' braze-on for mounting the shifters that were only popular for a short time.

I concur, it looks like a fairly high-end Japanese production frame from early to mid 1980s. The fork crown is an Ishiwata SCM:

Are there any ribs inside the steer tube? Five straight (not helical) ribs would indicate Ishiwata tubing.

This bit with the stem looks dangerous.

took the serial number pic in night time, i barely noticed the faint S before the digits. I read it as I S 379902

FYI: i found similar design on those semi wrap seat cluster at some 80's centurion road bikes, although looking for its serial number here at this forum, it doesn't seems to match at all.

Hey! I solved the puzzle. It's a Caloi Triathlon. Although Caloi is a brazillian brand, they ordered 200 bikes from Suntour in 1985 for their racing teams. It came originalli with suntour shifting group, sugino cranks and nitto handlebars. It's such a rare ride over here, it's a shame the paint is no longer original and i have no access to a full range of the components, I really like to looks and weight of the frame.

It was only made in this nice blue color.
