Great thread opener! Exotica French, always the show stopper. The frame is the headliner but that shift group is just as cool.

I recall when Kestrel was making waves early on with monocoque but when Corima got into frames, they had the radical styling.

(lastly, maybe needs Corima wheels????)

edit: What year is this bike? Early 1990's?

Well, I like the fork. The rest, I'd get used to while riding, because I wouldn't be looking at it.
Sort of reminds me of a Giant MCR. You don't want one, but you kinda want one.

Kind of like porn. Kind of want to try riding it, not sure I want anyone to see me riding it.

I'd also prefer not to have to answer the questions.

Makes me think if a 90s carbon bike had a one night stand with a Schwinn heavyweight.

Be careful. Some people here get upset if you say modern bikes are ugly. I don't say it, but I'm thinking it.

Hey, what did we ever do to porn that deserves this reputation. The french, on the other hand, practically invented it! Literally five minutes after Daguerre invented photography, he started taking lewd pictures!

Also, with this amount of french kink, this bike qualifies definitely qualifies for the "special interests" section of the bike pr0n world

Interesting comments of 'not wanting to be seen riding one'. I rather don't care what others think and its about experiencing it for myself. Matter of fact, if I'd be so lucky to see one riding something like this, I'd be complementing them.

This particular bike reminds me of the short time frame of the French Matra GP cars. Innovative and a style of their own.

One more blab and recent observation. I was on a group ride and almost everyone had late production, high zoot. Majority on CF. The exception was me (as usual, riding early steel) and one fellow with a Kestrel 200EMS. Mister Kestrel was proud and mentioned he's owned it since new. I enjoyed conversing with him, talked quite a bit about his bike and the lineage.

Though the funny thing was, the other riders know me and that I like to fart with old stuff, but they certainly didn't give much creed to the Kestrel rider. Weird air around him. Hard to explain here but they gave no acknowledgement, like he had some plague. Snob's.

Perhaps they have a history with him you are unaware of or perhaps they see his Kestrel and are envious.

You're treading on very thin ice here, sir. VERY thin.

(BTW, is the censor having a day off or what?)

Those arched, swelling tubes. The bright orange flush. The proturberant yellow bottles. Definitely NSFW.

It's not about the Dutch, it's about the porn industry there, what ever seems to make its way outside of Holland seems to only be really low rent quality for some reason...... I guess you need to live outside Holland to get the joke.......

So who's bidding?

Truth be told, I would buy this bike at the right price, just to be French and different, but my right price is nowhere near the starting bid.

Did Corima ever have their frames or the Mavic Mektronic group ever used in the pro tour?

^ Not sure of the above group. Though like many other frames / brands, they were eventually UCI banned. If you squint, can see a bit of Boardman's hour record.

I heard that the Mektronic group wasn't quite ready for "prime time" use in the pro circuit because on niggling problems with the system. The rumors I've read and heard was that stray signals and magnetic fields in the environment had caused unintended shifts with some riders. Don't know how it could happen as weren't these Mektronic components hard wired together?

Front is typical cable but rear is wireless. You could see a close-up in the sellers listing. Curious what year they were available.

Learned from the Mavic site during '92 TdF, teams Once and RMO used a Mavic electronic shifter. This was before the ZAP.

I'm sure you're right. I'm not at all familiar with that local industry.

I thought we were doing OK, though, in terms of export quality ...
