Very important question for the group
Well, not really, just something I've been wondering lately.
Who here has never owned anything other than steel?
Anyone owned aluminum?
Titanium?
Carbon?
My personal count is:
steel (2)
Aluminum (2)
Titanium (0)
Carbon(1)
I've been riding long enough that my first road bike carries c&v status now, but it was an aluminum cannondale. I just wondered if there is anyone here who has been exclusively on steel only.

Not quite an answer, but I am fairly confident all future bike purchases will be steel. I would do aluminium on a mountain bike, but not a road bike again. I much prefer the way steel feels. I also like my carbon Fred sled, but to me steel is just more enjoyable

I owned only steel (counting only the high-end Reynolds and Columbus bikes, not the '63 Raleigh Blue Streak) from 1964 to 2004.
Only aluminum since then. I won't bother with steel again; might consider carbon; no interest whatsoever in titanium.

All all steel for 40+ years, with a singular exception of a titanium Litespeed Tuscany. I loved the comfort of the Tuscany, but it was too flexy.

I've owned carbon fiber, aluminum, and steel. I sold off my modern carbon fiber bike. Aluminum was my "starter bike" and rode nice from what I recall. I'm all steel now.

I used to have an aluminum Schwinn (PDG 564). Hated the thing, as it rode like a pogo stick. I sold it, but if I had to do it again, I might try it with a carbon fork.
All in the stable at present are all steel, but I might try a carbon fork with steel frame. Don't knock it 'til you try it, as they say.

I have owned aluminum but sold them off because I can not handle the vibration (old back injury). I rode a Carbon bike that was a friends. Felt dead to me. I just enjoy steel.

I've owned one aluminum mountain bike, now gone.
