for sale - Recomendations

Have a nice bike and wondering about good venues to post for sale. I am the second owner and sadly we must go our ways. Any recommendations are welcome.

A good place to post your bike for sale would be HERE.

Good luck with sale!

Where do you live? Venues for sale vary by location.

How expensive of a bike? Some venues top out $$ wise, hard to sell the higher dollar stuff.

Do not underestimate the effort YOU will need to put into marketing your bike. Nothing is automatic, getting fair market value can be a lot of work, most bikes sell for less.

That effort includes cleaning it thoroughly, taking fantastic pictures with a neutral background outdoors, writing a great ad, etc. The more effort you put into marketing, the more you get. I love crappy ads with lousy pictures. Better yet, no pictures are fantastic! Eliminates all of the competition, and bikes go cheap.

Best deal I ever got was a four word ad: RACE BIKE BAD PAINT, with one picture of a bike in pieces in a dark garage, and not all the pieces were shown. Bike sold for less than 10% of fair market value, and it lasted several days.

Local buyers do not need every single detail (eBay buyers do). But the locals need to know size, brand, model, bike should be fully assembled with tires aired up, etc. I love to see flat tires, often with a comment that the "tires have weird valve stems that I can't air up". Discount, huge discount. Some sellers expect to do nothing, yet get top dollar. Would you buy a used car that hadn't been washed, had trash inside the car, flat tires, etc.?
