What year is my Bianchi Veloce? What was the stock saddle?

I purchased a Bianchi Veloce today and i have a few questions:

1. What size is it? Bianchis of that era came in 49cm and 51 cm, how did they measure them? Center to top of seat tube or center to center of top tube? Mine measures 49 c-c and 51 c-t.

2. What year is it? According to the catalogs/info it could be either a 2001 or 1999 perhaps? The info available is conflicting. Mine is Italian, tig welded steel, 1" threaded, and comes with a Miche headset which only came on the Veloce for one year. fairly certain it's an American market model. So whoever has a stock Miche headset on their 1" tig welded Veloce and knows exactly what model year it is can you chime in please?

3. What was the stock saddle?

1) Bianchi measures center-to-top, or so says the label on my '06 Bianchi San Mateo.

2) As for the year of your bike, I did some comparing on Bikepedia...

The Veloce was lugged before the 1998 model year, so yours would be 1999 or newer.
The Veloce went to a threadless stem in 2005, so yours would be 2004 or older.
Within that range, the 1999 & 2001 models were the ones listed with Miche 1" headsets.

Here are the listed differences between the 1999 & 2001 models:
1999:
Celeste or New Mango Pearl Orange paint.
Kalloy KWG aluminum stem.
ITM Super Europa 2 handlebar.
Campagnolo Veloce front derailleur.

2001:
Celeste or New Yellow paint.
ITM Stem.
ITM/Bianchi anatomic handlebar.
Campagnolo Daytona front derailleur.
3) The stock saddle on a 1999 Veloce was listed as a Selle Italia Trimatica. For 2001, a Selle San Marco.

trust me i already did the whole tour around the 'net looking at bikeapedia and the catalogs that are available, according to bikeapedia its a 2001, my bike is whatever model they are saying is a 2001, it has all those parts, its easy to pinpoint because of the Miche headset because they only came with them for one year, but then i look at the catologs and in 2001 they are showing threadless 1-1/8" headsets.

What about 2000? I am not sure when bikepedia specs are published or if the get updated but specs are subject to change. I see both the '99 and the 2001 coming with a Miche HS. Bars and stems are often changed to adjust the fit of the bike so could explain them not matching the catalog exactly and the same with the saddle that could have been change for any number of reason.

Why is knowing the exact year so important? Does the bike fit correctly? Is it fun and comfortable to ride? If so then just enjoy it.

Good pics of the bike would be helpful.
