Cresent Extra
 

Here's some pics of my Summer ride. I think it's from the 50's or 60's and is made in Finland. Anyone know anything about Finnish made Cresents as I thought it was a Swedish make?

I think it's missing a decorative Crescent chain guard and overall isn't in the best shape. But it's a beast and I regularly ride forest trails and gravel tracks on this.

Also different spelling, the Swedish make is a "Crescent".

Thanks jsven. Better make sure I get a decorative Cresent not Crescent chain guard for it.

Wasn't trying to be clever....it's just odd that the name would be misspelled? But I see a similar bicycle on-line, women's version, with the same spelling discrepancy. What kind of name brand recognition are you shooting for when you can't spell your own brand consistently? It may very well be the Swedish make.....just very odd. The American Cres(c)ent brand dates back to the turn of the century, 1900 one, if I'm not mistaken.

The head badge info is Cresent, Waasa and Oy G.L.Hasselblatt who probably sold and may have manufactured the bike.

I've had this bike for about 7 years and just always assumed that it was related to the Swedish make. But the fact that names are spelt differently may have in fact been an effort by G.L.Hasselblatt to associate a Cresent Extra with a Swedish Crescent.
