Please help identify this Peugeot
Hello all,
https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bik/5182058182.html Assuming this link works and the bike isn't bought in the immediate future, could someone help me to identify this model of Peugeot? I am new to the vintage bicycle game, so feel free to comment on the quality of this bike as well as the asking price of $125 Thanks! |
If you are taller than 5'8'' the frame may be too small for you.
Looks like a fair price. |
No access to my catalogs right now but it's an '82-83 8-series...maybe a P8.
Price is ok if it fits and is ready to ride. |
I appreciate the reply! It's actually a bike my girlfriend is looking at, who is 5'4" or 5'5". Thanks!

I'm thinking an '84 PX8 or PH 60 with those decals. If you look at it, the serial and model should be on the chain stays near the BB - the kick stand might be covering them up.
Not sure of the market in Chicago, but I agree with everyone else that if it rides and needs no work, 125 seems decent. |
I thought Peugeot got away from cottered cranks by 1984, but I admittedly did not follow the marque past 1980.

Yeah I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the cottered cranks - it's definitely a frankenpeugeot.

1988 French model Dauphine has cottered cranks... |
We ended up passing, the bike was not in very good shape. Thank you all for your help!
