Multi-Generational patch procrastnation
 

My dad got this patch in '77. I don't know where he did the ride but I would guess Pensacola FL. He never attached it to anything. I dug it out of his junk last year after he died, and put it on my bar bag today. It looks at home there.

I have a patch from an AYH century I rode in 1986, also not sewn on anything. I rode the same century a couple years ago, thinking I would get another patch, but it seems they don't give them out any more. :(

What an honor of the memory of your dad. It's great that you both share the love of cycling, and his spirit will be with you every time you see the patch.

What at bag is that? I'm thinking about a handlebar bag.

It's a VO "Grand Cru" bag I got when I worked at VO. It's a factory second... the colors don't quite match panel-to-panel. Overall it's a good one, US made, durable as the day is long. The loop and button attachment on the front is a pain to use though, you really need two hands to do it up. Costs a near fortune too!

The bar bag concept is really good, especially if you like snacking on long rides. I did the trails from DC-Pittsburgh a couple weeks back and had a running smorgasbord of figs and nuts in there... a fig a mile after 50 or so!
