I start with them all at 140psi, knowing that the tubulars will lose some air during the day.
I suspect I imagine I believe I think I can feel the difference between the tubular Criteriums and the clincher Masters, that the Criteriums are a bit smoother. However the bikes are so different and the tubular rim weights are probably lower too. I loved the clinchers on the Masi but at that time had no tubular experience for comparison. I loved them on the Gazelle and was reticent about undoing a great bike. With Mavic GP4 rims instead of the Torelli's the tubulars may not have been an upgrade.
The Masters have not been especially prone to flats but I've had a few while commuting. A flat tubular can be changed faster than a clincher but there is some comfort in knowing that it can be patched cheaply and easily. I've considered swapping those tubulars back to the Gazelle but that would mean running the wrong rims on the Grandis. Can't have that, now can we? Keep the French rims on the Dutch bike and the Italian rims on the Italian bike.

From what I've read that riding under-inflated can lead to more flats and bottoming out on rough road conditions. Over-inflating can damage the wheels and the rump, too. On my Cinelli I use Victoria's Open Corsa and on the Colnago C50 I have Veloflex Open Tubulars. The Victoria's ride harsh, the Veloflex ride smoother, both have 8 bars or 115psi inflation, the minimum required inflation. Fortunately, I weigh less then 150 lbs.
I am running vittoria latex tubes and my 25s measure about 23 on my my rims (same as my old challenge elite clinchers in 23, which were comparable to Vittoria open corsa).

@mikemowbz, I prefer the VAR levers, too, but they're out of production.

Is this what you guys were talking about? As far as I know, @Scrodzilla is the only one in the US who sells them.
