It's apparently a Japan home market bike, as there are very few references to it here. It's got that great Godzilla movie set dressing styling, it appears to be lower end, but has a light set, racks and fenders from the factory.
I may pick one up for cheap just for the novelty of the thing.
Here's a full dresser version:

I have no knowledge, but I love these full-dress Japanese bikes.

If that doesn't say economic and gas crisis of the 70s/80s then I don't know what does. Man, this is something I'd image Mad Max would ride if he rode bicycles. As a novelty, I'd definitely consider for an n+1.

I picked it up today, it's an unusual design, steel tubes with large aluminum lugs. It's mechanically sound, but has a little more surface rust than the bikes I've picked up in the past. It's rough, but the price was right, and definitely one of a kind. Some as found pics:

From the stay geometry I'm guessing this is a pre-Grant Peterson Bridgestone,(first pic) I love
the original photo. there's something charmingly garish about it.

Like an idiot, I was taking out the seatpost last night and ended up damaging it. Then after removing the seat, I realized the thing has a stem style wedge tightener. Thankfully and amazingly, Niagra actually sells a replacement seatpost.
Live and learn.
