Clamp-on DT cable stops + STI/Ergo shifters + cable adjusters

I am looking for cheap solutions here that allow fine-tuning of the shift cable within reach while riding. There is a guy on ebay who sells modified Huret clamps so you can mount the standard Shimano adjusters. Just don't want to buy both.

I already have the standard clamp-on stops like this:

Has anyone used a "mickey" with these clamp-on stops to gain shift cable adjustment? Will that work?

Thanks!

The anti-rotation feature of those adjuster barrels might not work with that Suntour clamp. I think those adjusters would have to be for specific installations in order for the anti-rotation rings to hold their position.

Let me recommend an inexpensive solution: Nashbar inline shift cable adjusters, $7 for a pair.

Really basic and easy to install within easy reach of the STI or Ergo levers. They get the job done.

I've built maybe 30 bikes that required conversion to STI's.
Probably 5 of them have had no DT or any other kind of cable adjuster, other than the adjuster at the RD.
None of them have had any issues with shifting.

Of the other 25 or so, I put DT cable adjusters on the braze-on posts, and have never touched them.
I am not sure there is any need for cable adjusters, basically.

When new and positioned correctly, there shouldn't be a need to adjust them for 1,500 miles or so, but eventually (as I found out on my higher mileage STI rigs), a quarter turn to reduce chatter is a welcome thing. I was glad I had the adjusters when that happened.

Thank you -- these are all helpful replies. It's going to be a shimergo setup, so I thought I might want/need to be able to do some tweaking, but getting off the bike to do so every once in a while is not such a bad thing. And if I do decide on something I like those nashbar cheapies...
