Silca Pump Question
I have a Silca Pista floor pump that I bought in the 80's. It has a brass dual valve head with a black rubber gasket which looks a bit worn. Inside the head, there was a brass washer type thing with a little tit on it. When you were pumping up a tire with a Shrader valve, the little tit depressed the valve stem. The tit broke off years ago and I can't pump up tires with Shrader valves with the pump anymore (no big deal because I have a Specialized Air Tool that I can use). I see that you can buy two different types of red gaskets for Silca pumps now. Does anyone know if I can stick either of those gaskets in my head or should I just spend the money on a new head assembly? I was hoping maybe someone here has the same pump head as I do and replaced the gasket with one of the new ones.

If you're talking about the rubber gasket it's usually Shrader on one side and you turn it over for Presta...

my Silca Pista, is P/V only , I have a P/V>S/V adapter (Silca made that too)..

FWIW the Super Pista that I purchased in late 2003 early 2004 came with a built-in schrader adaptor clamped to the hose along with a screw-in presta adaptor, both made of brass.
