Can someone recommend vintage (80's) pedals for an Italian Bike...
Having so many different pedals on my bikes, I want something simple like toe clips. But, I don't want to spend a lot of money. The bike I just purchased, a Bianchi, came with look pedals. I've switched most of the bikes to Shimano Dura Ace pedals and don't want to have a different systems of shoes and cleats.
What I'm looking for, just something simple, nice and clean. Italian preferred. The campy record pedals with toe clips are way overpriced.
Any suggestions?

I use the old looks or look delta compatable pedals on all my bikes. Cleats are cheap and good used pedals readily available.

MKS quill pedals are good/cost effective pedals, just don't plan to use thick, laminated pedal straps as you can never thread those through the very narrow pedal body slots. Otherwise they are very good quality pedals for the price. I remember paying just about 40 bucks for my new MKS quills about four years ago.

i now only buy japanese pedals with clips/straps. here's my preference on the more ubiquitous offerings:
1. kkt pro ace. they look just like campy record and even use campy washers.
1. kkt top run. it's a tie. they're not as cool looking as the pro ace, but maybe more comfy.
3. mks sylvan road.
4. kkt pro vic ii. i just make sure they're '80s models. they're lighter, better looking and more comfy than their earlier '70s versions.

Keep an eye on eBay. Others have mentioned MKS. KKT is another common Japanese brand you see a lot who makes/made high quality pedals. I scored a pair of NOS Roto pedals about a year ago. They were cheap, have aluminum cages, and are Italian, to boot.

I consider you lucky if you can use quill pedals. The quill sticks into my feet, almost at the midpoint, because my feet are so wide.

Thanks for all the info guys. I just hated to spend 200 on a set of pedals. I know the entire bike is Campy but didn't want to get to crazy with the high end stuff.
Never heard of the Roto, great looking.
KKT ace seems like a bargain with Italian Toe clips, under 60.00.

I have an inexpensive set of Campagnolo SR pedals that I have no interest in. Send me a PM or, better yet, make a request in the For Sale Forum and I will respond. In fact, I will post them there right now. This is what the pedals look like...

+1 I have the MKS sylvan road on my Nishiki and the ktt pro vic on my Raleigh. I overhauled both sets so got to inspect the 'innards'. I'd say they are both well engineered and well made pedals. Now they each have 1200 to 1500 miles on them (since overhaul) and work just great - very smooth, solid and comfortable (size 10.5 regular shoes). I have decided that leather straps are much better than web straps. The leather straps hold their shape and are easy to slide my feet into (without looking down) and hold my feet well but also easy to pop out of when the light turns red. Just right.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
FWIW, there are several pair if SR pedals in the fleet as well. Arso wide enough for my 9 1/4 EEEE feet.
