He would absolutely approve of your signature.

I'll pass it on, everyone. He just approved a choice of wheels for yet another Raleigh.
Given this weekend's weather, hope he can stay dry. Every ride this week includes a swim leg.

WEEKEND UPDATE: cehowardGS has ridden!
Day 1: Around the block.
Day 2: 5 miles.
Day 3: 5 miles.

He can't toss the bike over his shoulder and run up the steps just yet, but he can hold it in the elevator, etc.
Of course, now he wants to get on his bad-ace street rocket motorcycle. That is definitely cehowardGS.

Great news!

Can't keep him down very long.

This is good news for sure! :)

Great to hear! I've never met or really interacted directly with the guy, but from reading his posts I always come away feeling that I approach life too meekly. :)

Thank you for the continuing string of updates. Even though many of us have never met in person, we have a genuine sense of community here.

RobbieTunes 10-10-15 12:29 PM

UPDATE:

He rode 10 miles today, but walked the hills.
He's old, he's crazy, but he's smart enough to know his limits.
Standing up on the pedals is out for a while.

He's just going to sit on the motorcycle and get used to it being there.

Great news, he has always made this forum more lively with his enthusiasm.

That is great news! Sounds like he's out enjoying himself. I'm sending good thoughts his way.

I am as well.

Saw a guy on a motorcycle that looked suspiciously like him today.

He didn't go for a quick ride in Minnesota did he? :)

Mrs. Howard would never allow it.

OK, today I got to hug Coleman for the first time in about a year. You see him, you hug him, all 135 lbs.
Anxiety was the order of the day, as he was supposed to come yesterday, and I was worried (he's 75).

No problem when he didn't show, I figured he was a grown man among his friends over in Raleigh.
Sure enough, email this morning said "I'm on the way" sent at 6:58 am.

The other anxiety was the bikes. Yesterday found me re-inspecting them:
Grand Prix had a flat front. Changed that.
Grand Prix and Super Course both had headsets that looked like new inside. Including minus the grease.
So, during yesterday's wait, I managed to tear down the front ends, pack and adjust the headsets.
Anyone who has done so with a Tange Aero, you have my respect. No part of that headset is wrench-able.
Anyway, got 'em done, swapped saddles to match the paint, and worried since the pedals hadn't arrived.

Pedals arrived late yesterday, so he has his color-coordinated Looks on them.
Test-rode both, bagged the OEM "spare" wheels, boxed the OEM Raleigh clip pedals...

A few minutes after 8, he rolled in like the morning sunshine he is. "Spry" don't tell it right.
The delay? Seems he ate some amazing fried fish. A lot of it. Good reason to call it a day.

He liked the bikes, and we went over the plans for his '89 Ironman Master. He's excited. I'm feeling good about it.
He's well and smiling, showing zero issues with the illness, but that's a day to day thing.
He's taking the train into Georgetown with his bike of the day, and feeling the love from the bike admirers.
Since he's retired, he'll train into Georgetown, ride a bit, breakfast at McDonald's and bike folks always stop by.
Good situation.

Just wanted to let you all know. He's groovin'
I'm feeling better, and I thank you all for your thoughts.

rootboy 12-16-15 08:04 PM

Good on ya, Robbie. Glad to hear he is groovin again.
