Yeah... I come back and read that page occasionally and try to get a little more out of it than I had the last time. But instead, every time I read it I find myself believing a little less. Too much of it reads "I heard there was a guy who did blah blah blah ..."

I had the privilege of taking a vintage bicycle ride with Chuck when he visited Fallbrook a number of years ago. He was riding a 1950s Hetchins, if I recall correctly, with a very close-ratio 2x4 half-step. As we headed up the first hill, he commented, "There are no low gears." :)
