Long time lurker first time poster.
After admiring everyone bikes I thought I would share also.
I recently picked up an 86' Miele Uno LS and as far as I could tell it was fairly stock.

Nothing fancy Shimano Exage, Suntour oval rings, Suzie hubs and a 6speed free wheel.
Here it is after the makeover

I switched the wheels to an old 105 mavic set I had, replaced the handle bars and switched to areo hoods, new seat post and saddle, new drive train to 8spd and a set of new tires.
I've only managed one ride on the new configuration but it was very smooth.
Anyways I just wanted to contribute.

Welcome to Bike Forums!

I had an identical 55cm yellow Uno LS. I bought mine 2nd hand and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of ride. I took it to France and rode around the gardens of Versailles. I planned on leaving the bike in France, but, grew too attached... May you have great adventures on your Uno.

I've saved your pics!

Nice update! I've always been impressed with Miele bicycles and think they generally ride above their station. Almost all of the models I've seen have well chosen components and excellent paint. Enjoy it.

Just wondering what their "station" is?

All I meant by that is that the lower end models I've ridden rode better than expected. Miele obviously had high end frames and a vast model line-up, but I think what differentiates the brand for me is that even the low end models seem to sport better than average rims (usually Miele branded Ambrosio's) and excellent paint. Many of the mid range + models had Sikkens paint that really stood out. Just my 2 cents. I'm a fan of the brand because Jim Miele made cool frames right here in Toronto.
