How do I know if a frame is Tange Prestige?

Looking to pull the trigger on a Panasonic Team Custom. The ad is calling it a DX-5000 Special Edition but the pictures only show
"Team Custom" on the top tube. Person selling the bike bought it at an estate sale and said he was told by the person he bought it from that it was a DX-5000.

All of the decals on the seat tube are gone. What I've found out online is that that these team customs were part of the PICS program of Panasonic. Looks like all of these custom bikes were made from Prestige tubing. Anyway to check by serial number or any signs on the frame itself to tell if it really is Prestige tubing? Thanks for any help.

But it doesn't really look like a Tange Prestige fork decal:

Probably the only way to be sure is to do a hardness test on the tubing.

I'm only familiar with the Team USA (Prestige) and Team Europe (Columbus SLX).
The DX6000 was Tange Prestige.

If there was a Team Custom, could easily be Prestige, I suppose, maybe the Tange 1 fork.
Sure looks just like the Ironman '85-86 fork, and the Team bikes were right in that era.

You might try looking up the DX5000, as your pic shows tricolor 600, too.

I don't know a lot about Panasonic bikes, but the Team designation was only put on the upper tier. 600 Tricolor components were 1988 or 1989 in the catalogs, and they were only used on the two top models. The colors are not necessarily important as Panasonic had a semi-custom paint catalog for these bikes called PICS. These appear consistent with the catalogs, but I cannot be certain.

There are some catalogs here:

EDIT: If this bike were a fair price and in my size, I would not hesitate to buy it.

+1 I've had a couple Panasonics and both were great riders. Their quality control is well known.

Tange Prestige tubing was heat treated, so if you ever try to cold set the rear stays, they will most likely spring right back on you.....

Here is a link to 1989 Team Custom, that may help.

New Old Stock 1989 Panasonic PICS Team Custom | Retrobike

Your Team Custom looks like a 1988 based on the decals.
