Dc Vet's Day Ride

Hey all, just a quick photo post of my Vet's Day ride in downtown DC this morning. Gorgeous day for it, happy Veteran's Day to all, especially those who served.

The Marine Memorial:

My personal favorite lesser-known, the District WWI Memorial:

The Korean War Memorial:

I caught the wreath laying ceremony at the WWII, bagpiper and all:

The Korean one gets me. I go there, generally on Memorial Day, at dawn.
Those guy walking through paddies in the early morning fog are dead on, walking ghosts.

They're amazing memorials. I was there once- last year, I didn't get to spend quite as much time as I'd have liked around all the areas and the Smithsonian buildings...

I was unaware of the WWI memorials- including the privately funded 1st and 2nd INF monuments.

Thank you for the pictures.

I hear you Robbie; I went down last winter in a driving snow at about 2 AM, it was spooky, and perfect...
