1989 Mongoose IBOC Team Fillet Brazed Question

Hello everyone.

Just had a quick question, I haven't been to lucky on any of the others site or internet surfing.

I picked up a 1989 IBOC partially fillet brazed mountain bike and was curious if this was a mass produced frame from Taiwan or not.
It has a Handmade for Mongoose sticker and I haven't seen too many of these around. It also has a sticker on it that says Made In Taiwan.
I know some bike were made here and then shipped to Taiwan to be assembled or finished and then sent back to the USA to be sold as a money saving tactic.

I also heard that Tom Teasdale fillet brazed the Team fillet brazed bikes, but no one can confirm that. I'm very doubtful but thought it would be a nice touch if it was. I attached a couple photos. the fillet brazing looking super nice, not Ritchey nice but nice.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I don't know the answer but that is a sweet frame. How are you going to build it up?

I'm curious as to how making a bike in the US and shipping it to Taiwan to finish it would save money for the manufacturer..

I would ask over at Retrobike as well, someone will probably know for sure. I seem to remember something about Teasdale built frames always having an identifier added to the serial number or somewhere else on the frame.

My understanding has been that outside of the very first run of BMX bikes and the odd team bike all Mongoose frames were built overseas.
