Bottecchia made some nice mixtes. I had one with chromed fork, all six stays and head lugs. And it was a larger frame. Sold it to a forum member a few years back.

I have an old Bottecchia touring ten speed mixte with drop bars that I'm trying to figure out what to do with. The rear derailleur is a Simplex. It is all original, but I'd have to dust it off and clean it up to see what shape it is in. Kevin, are you still looking?

I had a Centurion Le Mans mixte and it was Tange Champion. It has to be one of the lightest mixtes I've seen. Most Centurion mixtes I've seen are hi-ten and heavy, but some models are much nicer. They all kind of look the same at first glance, but sometimes you discover a nicer one for a good price.
I have a Bridgestone 300 mixte, it's pink and says 4130 on the seat tube. I doubt the fork is 4130, but overall it's very middle range and the Suntour ARx group it came with is BUTTER. I call it Squishy as it's the most flexible feeling frame I have. I enjoy how well it soaks up the bumps and cracks in the road and the looks I get being a man on a pink mixte. It came with lovely 27" Araya wheels too.
Those are the only 2 I've owned, but I think they can be had for a little cheaper because they're perceived to be rather pedestrian, middle or even lower end Japanese bikes. I've found them to be remarkably better than that perception.

Just to throw out another name to look for... Perhaps the nicest old mixte I've seen was a Stella I used to own. It's been a few years since I gave it away. It had Tipo high flange hubs, and Jubilee derailleurs, Gran sport crank maybe (?). All stock. Most tricked out mixte I've seen actually. It may have been vitus tubing, I forget, but it wasn't simply hi-ten. It had some rather trick frame features also.
This was an early 70s bike. There were other brands besides those mentioned that I just can't remember. Most if not all were French. This seems to have been the era of the supertrick mixte bike that could hold it's own to the grand records and what not.
