BITD they were rare bikes in the US. In the 1970's I was only aware of two of them in the Southwest and Colorado area.
They're more common now than back in the 70's. I think that a lot of the ones seen here in the US were French market models marked Champion Team brought in from Europe in recent years.
One of the neighbor kids had an uncle that had a Le Champion, but I only ever saw a picture. It was orange. I think it lived in San Jose.

Well I gave this one the old college try. The more I looked at this, and after seeing @rootboy pictures of his beautiful ride, the more I wanted to see it in my garage. The fact that I just build a gorgeous set of Rigida clinchers with Campy NR hubs to replace those Arayas further prompted me to go for it.
So a-sniping I went and drove the bid up to $500 at the close but I just couldn't justify going any higher with the $100 shipping on top of this. Near as I can tell, the bike is sold and that's the last we'll see of it. On to the next one...

There was one on CL in WI a couple months ago. If I recall there was a little bubbling on the top tube, otherwise a very nice looking bike. Asking was $500. That was a great price.

Yes. And this one should be an example to all who contemplate selling a nice bike.
On how NOT to take and present your pictures.

Almost as if they hope it doesn't sell.
"Well, the wife said I had to sell it, but if no one bids..."
