Thank you all, I'm quite pleased with the result! The pic is pre-clearcoat, then it will be gracing my wall for a while. It's too small for me so I'll find it a home that will appreciate it and above all, ride it!

It's finally found a home. My acquaintance Serge (remember this one?) came over to see what I had and away it went 2 days later he came back, bringing me something I had asked about (another thread sometime...). He was on his way to test ride it in the quiet roads around Pardailhan/St Pons, and sent me this pic. As Bertin over here was linked with Shimano, it's mostly DA, with a few campag bits like the Nuovo Tipo hubs. Either way, looks fabulous with it's new rider and home.

Really nice. Thanks for sharing and all the detective work. The high flange front hub really gives a nice balanced aesthetic to the rest of the bikes components.

Good point on the front hub - wouldn't look right with a low flange.

It's all in the details...

that's some nice looking bike you put out there...
Good job! Allthough they probably did not put on tires with white flanks they complete the look of it!

It would look fine with a normal low flange hub, but it wouldn't stand out... Now it has 'pop'.
