Merino wool shirt cheap!
 

We were out and about in Saginaw yesterday shopping around getting a taste of civilization again. We stopped at TG Maxx and I was browsing around and found a mother load of Merino wool goodies! Not to mention cheap as nothing above $15! I'm not sure what may be at other locations as it probably varies but it's worth a look. I picked up a nice Woolrich 100% Merino wool t shirt for $12. Plus they had some other sweaters for $15. Just a heads up. I also picked up a full length zipper thin sweater for $15. Will be nice for those slightly nippy slo mo morning rides.

The t shirt is worth checking out though as it doesn't have that normal t shirt fit but more like a slightly looser fitting jersey. Plus it's Woolrich so it's decent stuff! If you can't find it I found a place on eBay selling them. They seem to fit a size smaller though as I'm only 5'5" and the large fits perfectly as I normally wear a medium t shirt.

Definitely looks interesting, although in my experience you pretty much always get what you pay for. I wonder how many washes these shirts will take before they start developing holes. That being said, if people like them I might have to snag a few myself...

Just got 3. I wear wool undershirts in cooler weather both while riding and in "civilian" clothing. The pro peloton wore them all the time, sold them when I was repping Veltec Boyer in the 80's just as synthetics were taking over. Those in the know wore them.

I can wear them 2-3 days in a row without washing, and even my hyper-sensitive wife can't tell.

For $11, it's worth taking a chance. In my experience you usually get what you pay for. Google "bikeforums.net: ride it like you stole it" for many exceptions.

I've never done the t-shirts yet, but I'm a big fan of wool sweaters, merino or otherwise. Except when they shrink. ;)

Ime the Merino stuff doesn't usually shrink the way lambswool or cashmere would. ymmv.

Sizing is confusing. The seller says they run big and OP seems to be saying the opposite.

If you look at the linked seller's other items, he also has lots of wicking fiber, fire ******ant garments at what appear to be very good prices. For example.

While the seller claims they run big, I'll go with your description that they run small.

I've lost some weight and am back down to size medium. But since you're making that leap of faith, I'll leap with you. Heck, it's only $12.

Never ordered from TJMAXX but certainly bought in store Italy made Merino 100% wool sweaters. Learned you've got to spend some time sorting thru the racks as some have gucci labeled china stuff. Closely examine the material blend / percentage too. Anyways, you might already be behind the deals as they sweep the racks reading for Spring attire. Scored $60 to $120 inflated MSRP merino and cashmere sweaters for only $15 to $20. But again I emphasize, best is to first inspect, handle the merchandise and trial fit. The company is also known for purchasing 'lots' of seconds. Very pleased other than losing a few to error in laundry.... arghh.

They just went on sale for $84 so I ordered a pair. I'll let you know how they do. The reviews are confusing. One says they run big, another says they run small. I am a little more concerned with how well they hold their "compression".

Got mine in the mail today. Definitely run big, thankfully not too big. Overall I am very pleased and it was great deal.

I received mine yesterday. I feel they run slightly small. I'm usually between a medium and large. I ordered large and it fits well. Nice shirts at first look. I may order a few more.
