lemond poprad - a few questions

I'm considering a project with Lemond Poprad frame. I have a few questions:

Fitting: For a female 5'8" would a frame size 52 or 54 be the right ballpark?

Shop Talk: I would like to put flatbars on it. I understand this means new brake handles and cables etc..anything unusual with the Poprad that would make you say removing drop bars for flatbars is not possible?

Weight: I would like the final weight to be 20lbs or under. Is that realistic? How much does your Poprad weigh?

I would say 54, but the devil is in the details.

What size and model bike are you using now?

Flat bars and flatbar controls are a very extensive reconfiguration, but not impossible. Identify the shifters and levers you want and then select brakes and derailleurs that match.

On the sizing: Find out her preferred seat height. Lets say for example it's 71 cm. (bottom bracket to the top of her seat.) If the Poprod is a traditional frame, multiply the seat height by .75 If it's a compact frame multiply it by .65. That should help with the size.

Thanks. Interestingly enough I just stumbled upon this pdf on the internet and it would appear that 52cm frame would be almost on the larger size for her height. Food for thought.

Lemonds can be longish in the top tube so I'd say 52 max. Women generally fit smaller cockpits so a short stem might be needed. You didn't say what year but for example, the 07 Poprad 52 seatpost has an effective TT of ~54

Oh, it's an '04...sorry

The flat bars will shorten the cockpit considerably, vs the original dropbars.
