I'd only been watching this one for a couple years, so I figured 5 extra minutes wouldn't hurt

BINGO!

We have a winner!

I'll try to get the obligatory 'in front of the garage door' pics up later today. Having an issue with leaky Presta stems right now so tires likely need replacement.

Thought so. :)

I will be looking forward to fotos when I get back from our ride.

Pretty please!

Pics were too large to attach, so here's one the seller sent me prior to the sale:

Closeup shot of the seat cluster, the only image small enough today to attach. I'll try for more pics tomorrow.

The build is all Campagnolo, '74 date codes on derailleur and crank. TTT bars and stem, Nisi tubulars, and a Unicanitor padded saddle.

Anybody know if old style Presta valve stems can be repaired, or removed? I don't see how they can be removed. I know the newer ones can. Hate to see a good set of tires go to waste.

Oh my that`s pretty! :thumb:

Good gracious, that is droolworthy!!

No clue on the old Presta valve stems anymore.

I would definitely find a Campy seatpost binder pronto.

I have to admit though, I am a little jealous.

You have a superb example of a classic Italian racer and I want one just like it in my size.

satbuilder 03-06-16 06:46 PM

This one's 57 c-t. I normally take a 58, but I'll make it work.

That is a keyed binder style head on the bolt, but it's not like the standard Campy one's I'm used to. I think I have one in the parts bin.

Not clear on the presta issue, but I am guessing they are damaged and/or unusable. Best bet is to send the tires to TireAlert for new tubes. I see prices have now gone up to $30 for basic tube replacement, but that does include return shipping.

Correction. Two would be $25 each.

I refuse to let this beauty slide to 2nd page status.

This is the real deal folks!

Gorgeous.

I finally got to see that beauty on my laptop instead of my phone. Wow! Droolworthy doesn't begin to decribe :)

Honestly, the blue highlighting has me thinking about putting away the Italian tricolor-painted panto stuff on my gold Colnago Mexico and outfitting it with a normal Super Record gruppo with blue highlights like the Marnati. Wish I knew where to find that blue brake cable housing.

I can hardly wait to see more pics. This is one of the best of the year so far. Ride it like you stole it :)

Definitely one of the most interesting to me!

Easily one of the best for sure.

I still have a real sweet tooth for nice Italian racers even though I am riding mostly off topic dirt bikes these days.

Just saw this - beautiful. Did this come from Stefano?

satbuilder 03-17-16 08:11 AM

Aaron,

This one came from Marco Borri. His seller ID is paracorto on ebay. He always seems to have some pretty nice bikes.

The frame has been repainted, a very nice job. I highly recommend Marco if you are looking for a nice bike, and a very good person to do business with.

Thanks Kurt - I'd love an Umberto to go with my Daniele some day.

I patiently watch for one as well.

I have complete NR and SR groupsets waiting for the correct opportunity.
