Glad to share, there's not much info out there on these bikes and it's a shame.

I took the Antares out again this afternoon for a quick 23 miles. Something about it just makes me break out in smiles while riding it. It brings the joy of a well functioning machine into my workouts. Can't really explain it.

I can't decide whether to keep the late-80s black trim thing going or to swap out the wheels and stem for aluminum finish . . .

I'm having a similar quandary with my first Italian.

I kind of like the black stem and seatpost, but I don't think I've heard from anyone else who does. I have also considered black rims, but I think the silver look pretty good.

There's a big appeal to keeping things period-correct, but when that period is the 80's I think sometimes you need to make an exception (although I really like the fade paint job on your bike).

Record wheelset came along. I haven't remounted the tires, so don't mention the position re the valves. ; )

Now has 11 speed rear using friction Syncro II and Superbe Pro RD! Shifts fine.
Replaced wheels, wrap, bars, stem, saddle (purple!), chain, RD, cables, housing, pedals.

Looking good, how are you enjoying it? Both of mine are a blast to ride.

I just got it together today and have ridden it about a mile. I'm going to dial in the fit while riding over the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin headlands this weekend, so I'll have a better idea. But so far my impressions are very positive - sturdy, nimble, and smooth. Feels a lot like my Schwinn Peloton. That said, I notice changes in fit and tires more than frames so take this with a grain of salt.

That bike looks fast! Love the pink!

BITD I used to regularly ride over the GG without a second thought and now when I walk out on the bridge I get heights dizzy and nauseated. Not sure I could ride a bike across now LOL. Maybe riding a steel bike would lessen the fear of getting blown off!

Can't wait to hear how it rides for you after you get it dialed in.
