1950 BSA streamlight
hello. Ive just acquired this BSA which i think from the frame number is a 1950 streetlight. I was just wondering what size wheels it should have. I'm not looking for original wheels as i plan on using the bike.

I'd wager a guess of 650a sized rims set up for rod brakes.

yes, 26x 1 3/8"
see http://threespeedhub.com/wp-content/...es-1950-UK.pdf rims at ISO 590 (26 x 1 3/8 E.A.3) Bicycle Rims from Harris Cyclery |
If it needs a 28" wheel, you need Westwood rims. They can be found. 26" Westwoods are much harder to find, so if it's 26" You can use Raleigh pattern 26" rims because they were designed to use either rod or caliper brakes.
Very cool bike! |
