Hello Clarice...
A while ago I got a set of the King Cage stainless toe cages. Outrageously cool looking, they work great- easy to get in and out of... But outrageously expensive. I recently picked up a set of the much more affordable MKS cages- I put these on the SR SP-155 pedals on my Trek 620- they look swell! I'd just gotten a text from a friend, so I took a pic for him and he responded "Hello Clarice!"
Dead. Nutz. On. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...pstkqmpcw8.jpg https://monstrumclassicum.files.word...0/hannibal.jpg And here's a comparison between the King Cage cage on an SR SP-11 pedal on my Trek 720. It's difficult to get a decent pic of the pedals and cages, then trying to do 2... But I think the idea comes across. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...pskfj1onhx.jpg |
Since you brought it up, Anthony Hopkins is the man. :thumb: I just recently discovered the film (video) Instinct, which had previously gone unnoticed by me. I highly recommend it, if you missed it too. :) But to get back to cages, yeah, I see the weird comparison. :twitchy: ;)

"Quid pro quo Clarice, yes or no." Raised the bar for horror for many years.
C&V content, "nice clips!" |
MKS, here comes my money!
...as for the other, yeah, the resemblance is uncanny. :) |
I'm going to get some of those for my Merckx.
Because Eddy was "The Cannibal." :P |

I really like those MKS clips. Thanks, did not know about them. |
I first came across this style of toe clips in a "shoe" thread.
http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...l#post15359926 northbend brought them up on his Alex Singer- I got the King Cage clips on super clearance- for $20 (normally like $60), and then found out the MKS clips are $20. I think they look perfect on the SP-11 pedals, and totally at home on the SP-155 pedals. IMO very classically French looking... to my imagination. :D |
The first movie I saw Anthony Hopkins in was Magic back in the late 70s. Ann -Margret was in it too.
Cool clips. |
You made me look, I thought I might have the SP-155s on my Trek, but I have the SP-150s. These are some of the nicest pedals I've ever owned. :) Maybe I need some of those Hannibal cages for them. :D
