I have a hard time not buying quality mountain bikes when they show up locally at a decent price. Here are the three I ride regularly: a 1993 Bridgestone MB 1, a 1992 Trek 950, and a 1987 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp.

My rideables, with one or two exceptions.

In the stand on the floor, 1984 Guerciotti, current favorite. Hanging, from the left: Late 70s Mercier Mixte*, 1998 Colnago Titanio Mapei, 1976 Holdsworth 531 Special still with Gaiole dust, 1989 Cyfac-built Maxisport, 1990 Peugeot 753 Chorus, Jean Valeros touring 531p (too small)*, 1980 Peugeot PY10, Custom built (not for me) Reynolds 853 Phillipe Andouard, Early 1990s Racing Bik composite (same as Kestrel, Aegis etc), Carré track bike branded Record.

*3 others in shot at bottom left, not rideable; Carre Urbain Caffi, 1960s/70s Peugeot not researched, Damaged and resprayed 1972/3 PY10, sprayed to match the Citroen 2CV. There are around 15-20 more in the garage but they are not rideable due to age, size, missing parts and so on.

Edit: The missing one is downstairs ready to head out the door... 1987 Faggin Campione del Mondo

Thanks for the interest! It's an original "Castorama" team "Maxisports by Cyrill Guimard" ridden by Thierry Marie in 1992 that i found as a frame and have been hunting parts for the last couple of years. The sourcing of the hard bits (as in: the Corima Manta and the Appoggio Lombare) is done but the Corima 26" forspoke, but the mavic 3star is a reasonable approximation.

Marie won the Giro 1992 prologue on it. On his wins of the '90 and '91 TdF prologues he rode a very similar looking bike, also equipped with a Manta, but i don't have enough hard evidence to say it was that bike too; mine also has a 1992 serial number and based on the pics, these bikes had thinner seat stays ans so maybe were an earlier verision, though prettys sure by the same maitre..

My Maxi:

it came with that sticker

And that #SN ("MT" for Marie Thierry)
