chainless bikes were popular at the end of the first big bike boom in the 1890's. Pope was sure that a chainless was gonna be the cats pajamas and revitalize the collapsing industry (it didn't). Chainless has been around in a small way ever since, I think. I remember seeing a chainless paratrooper bike from WWII somewhere. Pictures would really help to bracket this one...
Cionlli, btw, is a large industrial company in southeast Asia (primarily Taiwan, I think). They are alive and breathing well and still have a large saddle division today.
