Ticked me off, lost an almost complete post...
Metacortex- note by 1975 paramount production was ebbing a bit. Maybe more time to do a better job, or one of the sub contracted ones?
DD- chrome friendly from my experience is as few sharp edges as possible, better for deposition and buffing.
( above the reader's digest version)

Chrome tends to build up thicker on sharp transitions, I am told. A more "organic", or flowing curve will give uniform results.

I was working from my phone on the earlier post, so I didn't write as much as I wanted.
Definitely the Waterford frames were inspired by others and it is so easy to see the improvements from the Chicago frames (not that they were bad). One of the areas on my '83 that I find particularly beautiful is where the seat stays attach at the seat tube. from certain angles they just seem to "float" next to the cluster, with no apparent attachment brazing. I wish I had good pictures to show how this is the case.
The only area where my '71 Chicago P13 is better is in the paint area. While it has a moderate amount of nicks and scrapes or "patina," there are no blisters. The '83 Waterford Standard, however, has several places where the paint has blistered from the inside. I toy with the idea of sending it to Waterford for a complete refinish, but usually just change my mind and decide to continue enjoying this bike, even with its few warts here and there.
