1984 Club Fuji - How did I do?

Thanks to some lurking in this forum and some independent research I think I've found a pretty good bike in my size and price range.

I've been looking for a road bike and something to use for a (short) commute. After some research I became intrigued by the mystique of 1980s Japanese steel and fell in love when I saw this thing. I had to have it. It's 100% original, including the seat and handlebar tape (as far as I can tell). There are a few spots with chipped paint, but otherwise it's in great shape. The tires are even original and barely show any wear.

Good score. My 83 Team Fuji is a great ride. If the forecast wasn't calling for snow I would take it out this weekend.

Nice looking Fooj, we don't seem a lot of them, looks like a right nice find, IMHO.

My size. A Club Fuji was my first serious bike, rode in the local club rides until I had a custom built.

Nice! An awesome bike. A lucky find for sure!

A few dollar store fingernail polishes should get you to a near perfect match... to touch-up the chipped spots. I use the nail polish clear coat hardener afterwards too.

Thanks! I'm pleased as punch with it. It rides really great. The guy I bought it from works for a bike shop and definitely made sure it was squared away before selling it. That's kind of why I didn't push too hard on the price - I know I won't have to put anything into it (except for maybe some new handlebar tape), and I'm not planning reselling it. Paying a little more than I was looking to spend on a new bike is totally worth it for this one.

I agree 100% on paying a little more for getting exactly what you want. Enjoy it!

Sweet find. I have an '89 Club Fuji frameset that I will hopefully get to soon enough.
