1976 Centurion Super LeMans Clubman Finished!
This build is essentially a replica of a '50s British clubman with a few "modern" conveniences like alloy rims and a square taper crankset. The frame, with the chrome socks, fancy-ish lugs and, ahem, crude construction in places certainly looks the part. The hub is a 1960 AW and works beautifully. Some might question why I built a replica out of a 70s Japanese bike, and it's because the real things are hard to find, often in terrible condition, and/or expensive. Plus this way, I don't have to worry about destroying a piece of history when I ride it. Either way, it's tons of fun

Pretty cool. And yeah, you could go a lot smaller on the chainring for riding around in Seattle.
I gave a similar treatment to my old Lambert, only with an 8-speed IGH (because that's what I had on hand) and a 22 cog on back to balance out the 48 chain ring under the chain guard.
(You need a chain guard, BTW)

Very nice build! A 46t ring and a 22t rear cog would greatly improve its climbing capacity.

Like it! The red and white cockpit plays nicely off the Bluemels (and pump) What's the saddle? Looks like a different cut from a Brooks, maybe a Middlemores B89? The saddle bag too, very classic.

That's the meow there, cool kitty. Is that Centurion a little on the heavy side (or, to put a positive spin, "ruggedly built")? What's the planned riding scenario for this one, like a path cruiser, or commuter, or just around the neighborhood to make all the other cats jealous?

As others have noted this is a very attractive build. I would also like to chime in and inquire how it rides in the hills of Seattle.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I had the fenders and the rest of the build sorta came together around them.
The saddle is a Wrights W3N, good eye, clubman.
I have no idea what the "plan" for it is...probably just going to ride like I would any other bike. Can't comment on how it handles Seattle's hills as I've only done quick, flat neighborhood jaunts so far I'll find out tomorrow for sure though. I suspect I'm going to be looking for a 46T ring in the used shops before I'm even home!
I did ride a Raleigh Sports around for a while with original gearing and seemed to manage the hills fine.
