Italian-made Marnati Bike | Looking for more info

Hi All,

I am not sure if this is the best place for this post, but I am new so please bare with me.

I am working on my dad's old Marnati, and wondering if anyone here can get me more information on the bike and when it was made (thinking mid to late 1980s). I know about the Marnati father/son shop in Milan, but I can't find specifics on years and models. The serial number is #9013

These pictures should help: https://marnatiphilly.shutterfly.com/pictures/9

Thank You!

I'm a fellow Philly Marnati owner. I've seen two others in town...yours would make the third (not counting the ones over at wheelfine imports). Your bike is exceptional, as to be expected. I can't give you an exact date, but the features and components (somewhat mismatched) point to mid-late 80s. Do you have a tubing label? I'm guessing rear spacing is 126?

There really wouldn't be models as far as I'm aware...they're all custom. I am not sure if his serial numbers mean anything...my bike was built in 2010 and is 1110. CDM or Slotcar55 will, hopefully, be along...they may know more about Marnati serial numbers.

I'd love to see the bike btw...I'll show you mine if...

Thanks for that additional info...I had not heard of Wheelfine. Where would I find the tubing label? I'd love to see another Marnati and share mine as well!

As for the serial number, the first digit is not 100% clear, but it has to be an 8 or 9 (there is a picture in the link I included).

Wheelfine is a shop in new hope...really cool dude...he has a couple of frames (Oria tubing if I recall) hanging around.

Usually the tubing label is on the ST...sometimes you'll also find one on the fork. What area of Philly are you?

There is a guy...I can't remember his name...who rides a Marnati single speed conversion around town. Really nice dude...if you see him on the bike (it's yellow and blue), just go right up.

I actually picked mine up from Daniele's shop in Milan...saw where it was built...amazing. There is a member from S. Jersey who is a friend of Daniele's and who helped me arrange for the bike. His S/N is citoyen du monde.

I spoke with cdm...he's not aware of any SN patterns.

I'd love to take a look at it...let me know if you want to grab a coffee and show off some bikes.
