Paramount followed me home.
Frame is in really nice shape. Some Campy, Some 600.

I hope you did pay more than $50 for it: http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...paramount.html ;)
Beautiful bike, BTW. |
Some jealousy, envie, lust and anything else I can think of as the bike is shown:)
Nice acquisition ! |

20160609_181422 by flog00, on Flickr Hi, Nice bike....what is the real story? Regards, Ben |
Yeah, a bit more than $50.
I found it in Oberlin, Ohio, languishing in a very nice bike shop. Oberlin has a very high priced college and there are a lot of bikers there. I was afraid some rich kid would buy it and leave it outside to rot. It's to tall for me. Had a Cannondale rack bag on it. Nice shape but faded. Three Blackburn water bottle cages and two red Paramount bottles. I'm going to offer it to a friend, then on to the classifieds maybe. |
Neato, I didn't know there were touring Paramounts from this era.
|
Nice Paramount, great snag.
|
How many cogs back there, only five? Older wheelset on a newer bike?
|
I missed the third water bottle cage the first time I looked. That's awesome!
|
It's a 5 speed. I'm not sure the age of the bike.
Wheelset is Mavic G40 with Campy Record high flange. |
Bike is a 1984
63 cm |
|
Oh a pretty red Paramount. My favorite color. :thumb:
|
Somewhere there is a very tall rider just wanting a red Paramount touring bike :)
|
I'm not that tall, but I do have long legs. I'm wondering if a French fit would work.
|
Road trip.

Interesting that this is identified as an '84 and it has Campy 1010 - early, long - DOs out back. I would think those would've been considered obsolete by 1984.

Beautiful bike! If only it wasn't red....

Now to find someone with a 56cm touring Paramount to trade me. lol
Why is the red color undesirable to some? |

Paramount touring found a home :)
I kept a few bits for my Roberts. Wheels, brakes and brake levers will be on the classifieds soon. Nice to meet you Ron. https://c8.staticflickr.com/8/7387/2...40a30ca2_b.jpg20160613_202950 by flog00, on Flickr |

Awesome!!!
The bike and the acquisition!!! |
I just got back from the maiden voyage, 25 miles with a brutal wind. I still need to make some adjustments to dial in the fit, but it is a sweet ride.
Thanks again @Flog00 |
