1987 Kestrel 4000 sizing?
I'm on the verge of obtaining a vintage 1987 Kestrel 4000. Question I have is sizing. Does anyone have a diagram from the original catalog showing the different sizes and frame geometries? I currently have a 57cm 500EMS, with a 57cm toptube. Do the 87 4000's have short top tubes? Any help would be appreciated!

That's a fancy bike. This page shows a 4000 (you'll need to do a page search for "4000") a ways down into the collection. The collector is selling his for $2500. I couldn't find a catalog, but someone should be along shortly wit it. |
Thanks. I couldn't find anything online with any pics or diagrams of the frame geometry. Hopefully some can post up :).

FWIW, I have a 1987 road test and the 56cm frame was reported as having a 55.5cm top tube. However, I'm not sure how they measured their seat tubes (i.e. c-t-c or c-t-t). Regardless, it's under square. In 1987, the only sizes offered were 56 & 58 cm.
