I had something like the same issue:

I bought a B-17 because it was the same saddle I had as a boy — back in the Cretaceous! To my surprise, I hated it. But, a friend traded me a near-new Brooks Pro for my newer B-17. He loves the B-17 on his MTB that he thrashes over mountains. I love the "Professional".

I liked the 'Pro' so much that I bought a second one for another machine. I dunno the detailed differences. One is on a Gazelle AB at 56x56. The other is on my (rare) Simplon asymmetrical 56x54. On both machines the saddle is a perfect ride. The seat posts are from different makers, but the designs and dimensions are virtually the same — the more lovely one being a Nitto.

Yes ... even the "Pro" is limited in set-back compared some both modern and classic saddles I have collected over the years. But it seems to do me fine.

This is not an advertisement for a fix to your problem; nevertheless — a suggestion.

If you find a small billet of aluminum ... if you have a good bench-vise ... a hacksaw ... a set of good files: if you are handy with your hands ... if you are dedicated ... if you can drill and use tap and die tables, you can make yer own rack that will accommodate your saddle. Personally, I have to admit that I just have too much to do in life to do such things. I wish otherwise because it would beat going to work every morning :)

As I said earlier, don't take measurements too seriously. Please read the article I cited for adjusting your fit.

You might discover that this saddle just isn't right for you, though I think it's worth an investment of time to decide. It's a popular saddle, but it's not right for everyone.
