I picked this bike up almost a year ago, and I know no one I've talked to has ever seen something quite like it, especially given the condition. As far as we can tell, it's a 1963 or 1964 model Changzhou Bridgestone Brid.

The head tube badge is from the Changzhou Bridgestone bicycle company, with three Brid stickers on it. There is a City of Tokyo bike license on it, and the people I bought it from claimed they'd found it at a garage sale for about fifty bucks in Japan in 1980-ish. I bought it for sixty, in perfect working order.

It's equipped with a Dinex drum brake and has a Nexus-3 internally geared hub. There is a single headlight with a Sanyo Electric bottle generator supplying power and it appears to be 100% original components, but I've not been able to identify it definitively to confirm.

It's definitely not 1960s, as Changzhou is Bridgestone's Chinese facility and was established in 1994, which was also just about the time that Nexus was introduced. We might be able to narrow things down further from the frame's serial number and/or a two letter date that should be stamped onto the Nexus hub.

Which means that this thread probably doesn't belong here. Nexus hub is SG-3S40 and the frame number is 610509
