Where are all the Purple Bikes?

I'll start with the only Purple bike I've ever owned. Accents and mudguards are robin's egg blue. This is an original 1958 Sun Cresta, made in England by the Parkes family. It was given to me by the original owner.

There are some of them. Yours is a beauty by the way. Only one around here is a tandem that would look black in a picture.

Falcon made some purple bikes in the early to mid 1970s. Model 92? Anyone?

...I like to think of it as more "lilac". That's what the nail polish touch-up paint was labeled.

It photographs more blue than it really is - the spec sheet from Mercian said purple enamel, and that is how it looks to me in the bright sunlight ... 2002 Mercian Vincitore custom road fixed-gear.

That purple made me almost buy a Straggler despite the fact that the geometry is all wrong for me.

somewhere out there is a 50 cm Geliano with stars, nebula, and purple airbrushing to midnight blue that my daughter and I didn't win on ebay (though we won her Team Fuji from our Auctionsniper bid group)

Another one that looks blue in the photo, but more purple in real life:

Gitane favored purple for a couple of their models: TdF and Interclubs IIRC.

I'll update later with pics of my (sold and gone) Merlin, made by Bob Jackson...for some reason a lot of Brit bikes also get purple, maybe it's a Royalty thing...
Now, with PICS:

That would probably be a good call since the other Merz I have is "taupe" that by all accounts looks absolutely green not brown or beige. That being said the "mauve" looks very much light purple a lot of the time. And the "taupe" looks washed out gray in these pics.

My daughter's '81 Fuji SJ-10.

She picked the color for the powder coat.

Yes, as a result of the unfortunate loss of one of the odd-sized and rather expensive TA chainring bolts, alas.

This set worked well for me, though. I just had to pedal a little bit harder to get up the Burgundy hills.

I see this bike as blue --- but I have done a few group rides on it and well intentioned folk have called me Barney, or the Purple People Eater --- so I guess it can go either way
