S fork crown logo?
Saw this on a nice repainted Frankenstein frame today and I've seen it before but I'm stumping.

First guess - Simoncini?

I've gone thru all the S that come to mind and coming up short. Frame was nice, aero rear stays, seat stays were almost triangular, worn tricolor drivetrain, Athena headset, cinelli bars with some bizarro stem and seat post. Really beautiful color but the repaint was garage quality or worse. Didn't flip over to look at BB shell as I should've, was in a hurry. Hoping it wasn't anything too fancy, was roughly my size.

Sannino used that embossing and red was their "factory" colour. That dark red with chrome forks was popular with them in the mid-1980s.

They were asking $180. I'll let somebody else score a win today.
|
I'd be hard pressed to let that pass by, if it was in my size.
|
It was a 56 as I recall. A little smallish for me. If it's still there tomorrow I may go grab it. I just have way too many projects right now. I know Sannino is an unusual find but the chrome damage and horrible repaint add up to hundreds in repairs. You'd need to have seen the whole bike to understand.

Too bad, that's my size.
