Who would YOU like to ride with?

Who, from these forums, would you like to ride with?

Me?
Jim Muller, cause he rides with his wife and he introduced me to Nao Tomii.

MZilliox, cause he has cool ass bikes and lives an enviable life!

The Golden Boy, I think it would just be a happy ride.....

Multiple, but at least noglider as his character and area are interesting.

And of course T-mar as I am a sponge when it comes to learning and could listen all day.

Many others would be fun as well, Juvela also is quirky and intelligent, Drilliumdude is cool, repechage is old school....really too many to list. I would ride with most here as I like riding and people.

Audrey Hepburn. She's not a current BF but photos of her riding bikes have appeared here. Close enough for me.

Pretty much anyone. Riding bikes is fun and most bike people are a good time.

I'd love to make it to Cino, Dairyland Dare, etc. Riding in new locations, especially those removed enough from your own, is always an awesome experience.

I have yet to ride with a BF member that I didn't like.
The Puget Sound crowd is most agreeable + hope to ride with some PDXers soon (I bailed last Sunday, due to rain, I'm a wimp)

@Lascauxcaveman has excellent rides out on the Olympic peninsula and bikes my size. @northbend is always sooo accommodating, and he has a nice big hilly backyard, close to me. @Drillium Dude loves those skinny tires rides that feel fast.
and all you guys who have come to the few group rides we schedule.

Then there are new friends from Cino = @rccardr and @mountaindave & missus to whom I am indebted.

Mostly I would like to ride with guys/gals who ride 60cm bikes that I don't own. Hedonism at it's best.

I'm not an C&V rider but since I've pondered this before I want to join in.

oldnslow2, he just seems like a really cool guy, someone I'd just like

gomango, pretty much the same reasons as above plus he seems to have some really cool bikes

Machka and Rowan, I looked at most of her albums and they seem to ride in some very interesting places. I would love to go to far away places and ride, they seem to be doing this all the time.

3alarmer, very ironic since we never seem to agree on anything but I still think he'd be fun to be around.

I'd ride with anyone but I'll put Jim Muller at number 1. I'd like to ride up Cadillac Mt with him then buy him lunch and beer at Mainely Meat.

Northbend, seems to do epic rides in scenic areas. Seems like he's always up for a big day but also likes to enjoy good eats along the way.

I rode an elevator with Bernard Hinault. I did not get dropped.

I will add that I would not mind riding with anyone on this forum, especially if there is some quality cold beer at the end.

I really have to say that one is too tough to call

So much experience in this side of the forum -------

I'd ride with anyone who could put up with me ----- as an old school track sprinter, but current chubby Clydesdale, -- I am prone to fits of extreme jubilation on the bike (30 mph road sign sprints -- big -ringing it down any slight decline ) - only to be followed by another 45 minutes of soft pedaling and trying to catch my breath as my mind doesn't realize what my body knows sometimes -- that i'm middle aged and out of condition -- LOL

There are a couple of guys' on here who come to mind based on some common hardware

I'd break out one of the criterium Cannondales and big ring it with @OldsCOOL

Do some Kona dreaming with @RobbieTunes on an Ironman

and shred some singletrack with @gomango since he is a member of the Yeti Tribe also

I could ride a trackie at Kissena with @noglider , then pick up a slice in the city

I would haul out one of the Italian bikes for a spin with @bianchigirl
@qcpmsame -- (or any veteran) I could ride with and re-count amuising stories of our days in the service
@bulldog1935 could drag me through the Texas hill country

@T-Mar , -- such a broad knowledge base to learn from -- and @oddjob2 - could probably spend the bulk of a century ride talking about home re-modelling and period correct wood and millwork for Craftsmen homes

--------------------------------

that's just a small handful off the top of my head --- but literally, just based on most of the dialogue I have soaked up in this forum over the last year, i'd be happy to sit in with any of you guys'

And if anyone is ever out in Oklahoma, I can direct them to some rides ranging from endless series of short, rolling sprinter hills, - to fun singletrack, and on to rides most people think of when they think of Oklahoma - merciless time trials into 30 mph headwinds - LOL

thanks for the vote of confidence - what a great group - we should make a ride to Helotes in spring, visit the bike shop, stop at a roadside peach stand, and hit Hills & Dales on the way back to town.

I've met quite a few C&V members, most of them them from Europe, but also some of those who made it across the pond, and I wouldn't hesitate to spend more time with any of them. Kindred souls and all that.

Having said that, I'd really like a ride with @juvela, although it wouldn't be much of a ride, as we'd be discussing the finer points of Duralmin production in the late fifties in the St Etienne region, the relationship between Armand and Eugène Peugeot or the ins and outs of the aluminum cottered crank set. Probably even the "Waschmachine mit drehbarem und beim Drehen auf und nieder bewegtem Bottich".

I've been fortunate to ride with a few and they were all great folks. Unfortunately I'll be out of town and will miss several super members at the TC Fall C&V ride.....(post some pics guys!)

I'd like to ride with WI expat @RobbieTunes since he does so much to enhance the Dairyland Dare for C&V and he couldn't attend the year I rode it.

@The Golden Boy - although I'm afraid we'd be checking out each other's touring bikes like two dogs sniffing each other and wouldn't get any riding in

Machka and Rowan just to hear touring stories and learn from their travels.

I truly don't mind slowing down to anyone's pace. My wife's moving average is 10 mph. It's fine. When I'm with someone who goes faster than I usually do, I'm amazed at how I can keep up, but that doesn't mean I could keep going at 20+ mph.

I'm honored that a few of you mentioned me. If anyone wants a bike tour of New York City or of Ulster County, NY, please let me know. I've done these a few times.
