The Athena 11 looks great. I have those derailleurs, too.
However, the shifter tends to fail quite often. It shifts to larger cogs, but jumps all the way to the smallest cog with a thumb shift.

Instead of another Athena body, I bought a replacement Ultrashift body. It needs some hood slot trimming, since the thumb button moves farther.

Damn. That just looks... right.

I think the scope of this thread is components designed in the modern style, but there are obviously (and someone has probably mentioned this in this thread already) lots of parts being built now that follow the classic style. VO and Compass being the obvious examples. Also, Odom hubs:
