Brake Upgrade
Guys, I have a 80's Torpado road bike with Universal levers/brakes. I'd like to upgrade to aero brake lever/hoods like the TRP RRL SR and upgrade with dual pivot brakes. What model Campagnolo brake set that would fit this bill?

I responded on 50+, as well. KoolStop salmon is all you need to know -- find a specific model that fits your calipers and looks good to you.

question, would I get better leverage and stopping power with Campagnolo Skeleton Dual Pivot Brakes?
|
I can't help on the brake question but I really like those levers. Put them on my 1987 Schwinn Prologue and they work great with the DA 7400 calipers. I like the offset and how easily they are to use while in the hoods with my small hands. Really comfortable hoods and easy to use the brakes from there too.

Thats what I'm hoping. Thanks. Going to give them a try. They look good on your bike. beautiful ride.

Short reach had become more or less standard by 1980 or so, IIRC.

Mine is from 1984. Torpado Super Strada.

silver tektro r540. they are basically a copy of campy athena brakes - without the cut out. I have the athena brakes as well so I know- they are actually a stiffer and better brake- and have a lot of room for adjustment and reach. rub off the tektro if it bothers you.
