Bertoni build help
So I picked up a pretty nice Bertoni Corsa Mondiale and am looking for a little help in deciding just how to build her up. I will most likely be stripping down the paint and repaint in the original colors with new decals and all. The trouble I'm having is in deciding on if I should go with silver Potenza, quill stem and 26mm bars with traditional wheels, or go with Chorus, quill stem adapter to run 31.8 stem and bars, and black wheels.
Either would look awesome I think, but I think I'm leaning toward the Chorus package. Although the silver with the purple paint would look great too. See, I can't make up my mind! Here is a pic of how she looks right now. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ps86pzxxfk.jpg Thoughts and advice are welcomed! Thanks. Brandon |
Is that cleaned up and waxed? The paint doesn't look that bad to me. I would build it with parts on hand and make sure you like it before spending $400-500+ on paint or all the time it takes to DIY.
Personally I would put those fabulous '89 Chorus components with silver box section tubulars on it. |
I think silver will be better than any black components, but that's just my opinion. Nice silver undertone in that paint color.
I also would use a quill, and not go with an adapter. They mostly just look clunky against the old small tubes. Been there - done & undone that. I had a CM, too, just a size too small. I'da kept it had it been that one size larger. Enjoy. |
OH BTW if that has localized seat stats it is a good chance it was contract built by Bianco. Getting was a boutique brand by Universe.

Very nice. Agreed that appears to be far from needing a repaint given what I can see from here. And agreed on quill versus adaptor. Does it fit?

I have two Bertoni frames so built one each way:

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I know if it has localized seat stays? And what does that mean? |

Based on the numbers, it should fit very nicely. |

It is Bianco Goddess insight. Actually it was that stupid spell heck I wanted to say ovalized. See the area near the brake ridge where they sort of flatten? |
