That one is a beautiful bike- and the red one is OK I guess.

Congratulations on getting the seatpost un-stuck! Dominate!

Here's my "rescue."

Do you have any idea of the lives of these dogs, and what happens when they outlive their "usefulness" to the track? I'm so grateful we got this guy to turn into a spoiled dog.

Fantastic bikes and really cool scores.
Sweet buddy nice

Progress

Ok so the stem was stuck but good and my LBS had to help me with that. They got the stem out and there was a black widow living in there. They killed it at the bike shop and said they will send me the picture. This frame is suprisingly straight and nothing is stripped or broken. Cleaned and greased the top and bottom and she is ready for parts. I am going to try and clean up the paint up before final assembly.

You couldn't rescue the black widow

What's the build approach? Modern? Time period?

Unfortunately the Black Widow was a total loss. There was a quiet ceremony for it in the alley behind the LBS.

Here is a picture from the 1984 catalog that appears to be the same bike. Except mine does not have the number card bracket.

If you check www.cadre.org you will find an EMs serial number database that can help identify the timeframe and model of your bikes.

Bodega Bike progress. Anything savable that was on the bike I left in place, like the Campy Headset and seatpost. I also used the Dura ace 7400 cranks. I had some other Dura Ace components and Ultegra 10 Speed Derailleurs. The cool thing is I am using Downtube shifters that are 10 speed and non aero brake levers so this bike will be Eroica Californina compliant. I dont even know yet if the 7400 cranks will work with 10 speed. I think as long as I use 10 speed chainrings it should be ok.

Anyway... here are some shots after a full frame cleaning and waxing and some of the new parts. I am still need a few small parts and then I have to cable up the drive parts.

I have ridden the bike. It is quick, silent and nimble. It weighs in at exactly 20lbs.

Looks great ! Even with the nicks and blemishes. I bet it rides superbe... and it's Belgian !

I do have a concern for he seat post out there past the insertion level. Do you have enough post left in your tube ?
