I'm grateful for all the framebuilders and bike designers over the years who put their inspiration and hours of work into the bikes we all get to enjoy.
I'm grateful for all the cycling advocates who are slowly making this a more bike-friendly country.
I'm grateful for all the friends I have ridden with over the last 50 years.
I'm grateful for my son and daughter, both of whom occasionally ride vintage bikes I helped them build and who always think to visit or call regularly.
I'm grateful for my dear wife of close to 4 decades who rides tandem with my at least once every week.
I'm grateful for all the beauty in nature that my wife is forever noticing and pointing out to me.
I'm grateful for my 4-year-old granddaughter who is a fearless fire road shredder on her little Skut bike; and for my 2-month-old namesake grandson who reminds me that eating and sleeping are very enjoyable pastimes.
I'm grateful for my son-in-law who shares my passion for riding.
I'm grateful for all the pictures of places I've never been on the "Where Did You Ride Today" thread.
I'm grateful for all of you who educate me and humor me.

I have much to be grateful for. At 74 I'm still healthy, and have a very supportive family and group of friends. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Albuquerque visiting my 61 year old "baby" sister and her family, and will be leaving to head back to San Francisco in a couple of hours.

So very much to be thankful for this year, but some sadness also. Most importantly I am thankful for my wonderful wife of 40 years, Monica, and for her love and support through the tough years in the past. Our two children are both grown and successful in their chosen fields, even though they are in distant areas we stay in touch regularly.
Our daughter just took off work on short notice to accompany my wife to her father's funeral, in El Paso, TX. I cannot get away as I am caring for my elderly mom in our home, it was nice to know Monica had her there. Sadly, Monica had just reconnected with her Dad, after 56 years of not even knowing where he was, or anything about him, and the family she had in El Paso. I am thankful that we didn't put off getting in touch with her dad, and that we took time to go out to his home and connect with him.
I'm thankful that her newly found brothers have taken her in fully as their oldest sister, after never knowing her at all. We have a complete new family in El Paso that is truly a big blessing to us both as well as to our kids. More Tia's and Tio's (aunts and uncles) for them to love. More brother-in-laws and families for me to enjoy being with, I love being an Uncle/Tio.
I am thankful for C&V cycling and for everyone here, I have been accepted, even though my knowledge wouldn't fill the eye of a needle, and a gnat could still do back flips. Really thankful to Drillium Dude for the Medici frameset that was my ticket to C&V world. And thanks to all here for being so friendly and accepting.
Too much more to list, the tl:dr crew will be letting me know if I keep on. Peace to everyone.

A bicycle crash 2 weeks ago sent me to the hospital, even I know peeing blood is not a good sign The way I landed I jammed my elbow into my spleen, rupturing it. Before they took it out I had no idea where it was and what it did, but suddenly I was really missing it. I am thankful it was not worse, but the 6 days in the hospital made me appreciate who I have in life even more.
I am very thankful for my beautiful wife, 3 great teenage kids, healthy parents, brother and some very good friends.

Thank you! I probably jinxed myself by thinking I would easily make my mileage goal for the year. I still might make it but will be taking it easy on the stationary trainer through year end.
Keep posting your great ride pictures, they'll have to carry me until I can get out.

I'm very thankful you are recovering from the emergency surgery, this could have been a much worse ending had you not made the right choice. Take thing safe and easy for a while, listen to your body about getting restarted.

Still learning
Today I hope to renew my thanks for the York/Debartelo family for firing Jim Harbaugh. Mr. Khakipants has brought the Wolverines a long way in two years. Hopefully the Houston transfer QB, John O'Korn, will have a better outing today.
And of course I am thankful for good health to my family and myself, great and generous friends, and economic stability. Also; the sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces, first responders, great neighbors, Airbnb, and a most fascinating election year.

It's Turkey Day here in the US of A. I finally realized yesterday that the 1995 Stumpjumper M2 FS frame i bought for a pittance last year was designed for a modest front shock, in the 50-60mm range and according to the Internets, if I use the 100mm shock I bought I will create a Harley chopper-like bike that will flip me backwards on even a modest hill. Who knew that a 100mm shock was a downhill shock in 1995? Go figure. ANYWAYS, I'm grateful that I can get on a bike at all. I'm grateful for the $40 Trek 660 I found. I have had several enjoyable evenings working on it and several mellow afternoon rides on it. I'm gratefull for the Vittoria Voyager Hyper 38mm tires on my commuter (1980's Novara X-R hybrid). They roll like a dream. I'm grateful for the $20 1985 Fuji Sagres Mixte I found a few weeks ago. I have had a hankering for a mixte, don't ask me why. I'm looking forward to working on it. Actually, I'm grateful for a lot of things I won't list here.

Hah, I also am grateful for 38mm (actually 622-40mm tires...weird labeling) Vittoria Voyager Hypers! They really are good tires. A big improvement in every way over my old Vittoria Randonneurs.
Grateful for the $30 Trek 950 I got as a winter bike this year.

I only have a couple hundred miles on the Voyagers...but no flats yet. From what I read, they don't have the best flat protection, but they do have a decent amount. We'll see. It was a tradeoff I was willing to make even if they do flat occasionally. I have a fairly clean commute.

Went on my (likely) last ride of the season and am very thankful for drivers who see cyclists as fellow travelers, not impediments.
