@seypat - My daughter use to do Irish dance, championship level. Tumeric is in mustard and can be had in a capsule form. Used by athletes to address cramps. Don't know what Pickles have in them.
I would love to join you guys! Maybe next year. I wasn't ready to do it this year. Truth is, I didn't pay attention! Will be in the Fredricksburg area by next year so will be a bit closer.

I think Frederickburg is the current parking lot for NOVA. Just sayin....
I enjoyed SOTR more than in any previous year. It was unusual, but less stressful, despite rooming with seypat.
1-Nice dinner at McAdoo's. A bowl of chili seemed appropriate for the eve.
2-Almost perfect timing on the wake-up and prep, almost no sitting around. Everyone was ready to roll, and did.
3-Climbing in thick fog, kind of neat not to be able to see.... Relaxed on some parts of the climb with Doc.
4-Descending the BRP in thick fog, following the uber-smooth Doc with his bright tail light.
5-Rain began on the "break" in the descent to the more hazardous Hwy 43.
6-Descending in the rain on worn rough chipseal, full-on braking and still going 25mph.
7-Coming out of the heights to dry-out conditions. Bike handling lessons learned.
8-Taking it in, relaxed, with Doc. Nothing to prove except that we were not bushed, just fine.
A good time. Great venue. 2018 should be as fun.

No rush to register IME. Word on the street is hotels will fill up quickly though as that is graduation weekend for the local university.

I may be out of the country this year, but otherwise would try to book a room maybe 50 miles away and just get up earlier in the morning...

So...things might be changing for the better, SOTR-wise. Based on recent cooperation from my daughter and spouse, plans may be altered to provide me a window for the ride. Which would be excellent.l

I looked at hotels when Paula sent out the email. I have a room booked in Appomattox. Appomattox is pretty close. That would be the place for extra rooms. I also have 3 tents and the gear from the Scouting days if someone wants to camp in or out of the Y. Last but not least, I have an extended Chevy delivery van. I could store 5-10 bikes in there and still have enough room to bed down. If we have extras coming from out of town we can make it work.
If we have some way out of towners that want to ride but need to borrow a bike, I could bring some to lend. I have a 49/50, a 52, 2 54s, and 3 56s. We can make it work.

Bike Mama Paula is working hard on alternative lodging solutions, so stay tuned.
